II8:In the American Valley.The stockholders of the American Valley Water Storage and Irrigation company have recently prepared arti-clea of incorporation, and the boys have gone to work on the dam. The L incorporators are Albert F. Potter. Walter Baird, C. V. Peery, Win. Crabtree, Ed. Beeler, James Donohue, Jim Reagan, George W. Henderson and Mrs. Lulu Stevenson. At a meeting of stockholders held last Wednesday In ^ St. Johns, it was resolved, “that no sa- | loon wou’.d be tolerated in the settlement. This was the unanimous sentiment of the meeting. As a means ot enforcing the local option ordinance, it was also agreed that if any one should attempt to open a saloon in or anywhere near the settlement, the power of the population should be invoked, and the offender, together with his J stock of drinkables, should be thrown 1 over the bluff. As Walter Baird is the boss of the camp, this regulation will come very near being the supreme law of the new commnnity.t:The Great Petrified Forest.
