Youth, 17 Killed; Man Wounded in Gun AffrayMARSHALLTOWN (ff — Clintbn Brown, about 17, a resident of the faniA Indian reservation was shot ind killed early Saturday and' Henry Halverson, 50, was wounded in i shooting affray tfl Dunbar about 15 miles west of here.Marshall County Sheriff Harry Jennings said he had put out an rder for the arrest, of Vernon Jefferson, who, with Brown and an-ther Indian visited the Halverson home just prior to the shooting.Halverson was taken to University Hospitals at Iowa City where his condition late Saturday was reported as fair. He was suffering from a bullet wound in the back, hospital attendants 'said.Sheriff Jennings said that Halverson’s son, Robert, 17, was being held as a material witness in the case.The sheriff gave this account of tbe shooting:Jefferson, accompanied by Brown and Frank Pusheconequa, also a resident of the Tama reservation. went to the Halverson home where the elder man and his son lived alone. Jefferson went there in search of his wife. The 17-year-old boy fired at a car outside the house and apparently one of the bullets hit Clinton Brown.A short time later a car in which three Indians were riding skidded off the highway near Montour and went down a 45-foot embankment. A passing motorist investigated and Brown's body was found at the foot of the embankment. The other two men had fled.Pushetonequa was arrested later for questioning.
