TYREE BOND $25,000 00.The bond of (Jaynes Tyree was fixed at $25,000.00 in the Lawrencecounty court last Saturday by agreement at which time it was found it could not he agreed upon by the complaining commonwealth’s witness,| who wished it fixed without bond.| Mr. Tom Burchett, father of thea * tik r, .• Burchett boy who Tyree killed, said they did not want him admitted to bail, but even their own counsel saw'ij that the case did not warrant such [restriction, so the council for the] Commonwealth asked that Tyree be j given bail.j It seems that the defendant acted I in self defense and from evidence [gathered by the attorneys for the | detense while in Louisa from wit-; nesses for the Commonwealth that/V;I while the witnesses were not swornthey testified that the Burchett hoy was of a bad reputation with his i neighbors and that Tyree was made j afraid of him, by his numerousI threats toward him. and that it became necessary for one or the other j to he put out of the way. Thej only tiling looking bad toward TyreeJ was that he was at a house of ill repute and he saws he was unawarerW ' • :j of some of the company he was in.' thus In* seems to have much the best side of the case. His bond was agreed to by his attorneys andfriends and w*as at once given andcould have been as easily given had it been many times as much. Heis at home with his family at present.Mr. Tyree is the eldest son of ’Squire and Mrs. L. F. Tyree of this city, one of the most prominent families of the city, and their* manyfriends trust that he will meet with a speedy acquittal, if tin* law so justifies it.
