Man held in murder of wifeBetty Ann Harding, 32. was lulled early this morning when her estranged husband allegedly fired one shot into her back inside her home at 8 E Ranney Ave . South New Castle Borough State police reported that Robert Leroy Harding. 35. was arrested shortly after the shooting and was placed under guard at St Francis Hospital pending his arraignment before Magistrate Ruth French Lawrence County Coroner Howard Reynolds pronounced Mrs Harding dead at the scene where he examined the woman's body on the kitchen floor about 1 30 this morning A neighbor said Mr and Mrs Harding had not been living together for about four months prior to the shooting They moved into the house in 1975 and have three children Harding, who has been living with a relative, shot his wife and then went to an uncle’s residence in Shenango Township to call police, the neighbor said The murder suspect is an employee at Rockwell International Mrs Harding worked as a nursing aide at St Francis Hospital for two years
