LOOT D ALTON P. 0.I ( '»Robbers early Tuesday morning attempted to rob the Dalton post office, but the noise they made awakened Postmaster John Shisler, who lives in rooms over the post office and the robbery was nipped in the bud.Shisler, when he awoke, listened long enopgh to convince’ himself that someone was trying to get Inside the safe. Then ho procured a* gun, opened the stair door $nd shot down vthe stairway. He heard a'scampering and the men disappeared. Shisler caller for help and an effort was made to follow the robbers, but they made a clean getaway.It was about 3 a. m. when the postmaster discovered the robbers at work.
