John Bowling, of Murrayville, came to the city one day last week, and according to the statement of a number who saw him, got on a drunk. lie had about $10 with him at the time and he proceeded tojjspend it pretty lively. He left #20 at Dan Bahun’s place and in going around the town some one held him up and relieved him of all that he had remaining, amounting to #2.70. James Chadwick stated that he saw four or five fellows hold Bowling up in an alley at the rear of his place and he informed the police and on Chadwick’s say so, the police arrested two men who gave their names as John Doyle and Dennis Konrad, Harry Jones, Spencer Taylor and Dick Sanford. These are the men who are on trial this afternoon for holding up Bowling, but whetherthe charges can be sustained againstthem is another thing.
