If current reports be true a scandal of some magnitude will soon be made public in connection with the present territorial prison administration, the irrepressible .May Woodman, of Tombstone notoriety, having: become eneiente since tier incarceration In that secluded retreat by the Colorado.—Miner.To ascertain the truth or falsehood of the statement made In the atiove paragraph, a representative of the Sentinel visited the prison, and interviewed the prison authorities. Aside from the emphatic denial of the superintendent, the warden and the woman herself, we are convinced that undei the circumscances such a condition of affairs would be impossible. The woman is kept under as strict discipline as the rest of the prisoners, occupies a cell which Is inaccessible from others, and the key of her cell, after locking up al night, is deposited iu a safe to which no one has access except the turnkey. Of course this report was started simply to injur# (.'apt. Inga us, the superintendent 01 the prison, and ha* 110 foundation except in the imagination of some brute to whom a pure thought is an absolute stranger.
