By LESLEY POST JI Staff WriterVERNON — Thirteen-year-old Lisa White is “just as missing now as she was Nov. 1 when her mother reported it,” police Lt. Edwin Carlson said Friday.Though the Vernon Police Department has followed up “any and every lead,” he said, the Vernon Center Middle School student cannot be found.Lisa, daughter of Judith White, 165 Regan Rd., apparently left home after a family quarrel, police say.She was last seen on Prospect Street shortly after she ran away, according to an unidentified woman who called Lisa’s mother.Mrs. White has issued an appeal to the woman caller or anyone else with information about Lisa to contact her at 872-3384.Lt. Carlson said police have checked in Tampa, Fla., where Lisa’s father, Gilman White,resides. sHe had no knowledge of her whereabouts and had not heard from her, Carlson said.Carlson made a personal visit to a deserted commune in Hampden, Mass., but again failed to turn up any clues, he said.Carlson said he had nothing to lead him to believe foul play wasLISA WHITEinvolved in Lisa’s disappearance.The assumption is that she ran away, though other possibilities cannot be absolutely ruled out, hesaid.Carlson said he has questione Lisa’s friends but has come up with no clues.The youngsters have their own “code of ethics” concerning their friends’ secrets, Carlson said.“Until you can make the kids see how serious it is, and how much the parent is being hurt, it is pretty tough” to get them tocooperate, he said.Lisa is five feet tall, weighs 110 pounds, and has blond hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue denim jacket and green pants.She is asked to call the Vernon police, 875-0761, or any of the following services that would offer help and shelter: Manchester Police Department’s juvenile officer, 646-4555; EastHartford youth services, 289-2781, “Roots” Runaway Drop-in Services in Hartford, 525-1131, or New Hope Manor in Manchester.
