Yesterday another affidavit wasfiled against him alleging that he hadpatiies \?her than himself in tl * -loon on Sunday. When t he case cam *to trial today it developed that thparties were the one to whom he hudsold liquor, and for which offense hhad paid a fine. Judge Smith immei-iately dismissed the case, stating thirHal lam could not twice be put in jeoa-ardy. Had not Hallam paid a fine toselling, the affidavit having parties inthe saloon at this particular timivould beg ood, and if Hallam had beenconvicted, under the provisions of;theNicholson law, his license could havelieen canceled. For three conviction.?.under the provisions of the Nicholsonlaw, the license of the saloonkeeper '•convicted, nmv Ik* canceled.
