Horse Stealing as an Industry Having Become Greatly Discouraged.The annual meeting of the Bethany llor-t' Thief Detective Society was held Saturlay evening in the Mason school house Ic Godfrey township and rejtorts of officers were submitted and approved. AH of the present officers wpre re-elected, tl# Impression prevailing that they could not be improved on.As a result of the activities of this rociety stealing horses has become a dead Industry in Godfrey township, and while the members continue to pay due*, etc., the expense is kept down to practically nothing, because of the absence of thieve*. The treasurer rej»orted that he has in lt;he strong box of the society Itis likely no other similar organization is In the flourishing financial condition of the Bethany, and as It Is gaining additional members right along, it is certain that its finances will continue In a healthy condition. A few years ago the society decided to get after poultry thieves as well as horse thieves, and poultry depredations promptly decreased. If the G.
