A Peacemaker Murdered.Knoxvillb, Tenn., Nov. 22.—While E. L. Stone and William Cox, citizens of New Tazewell, were drinking*, and finally quarreling over the recent election, Francis Mautz, an aged prohibitionist, tried to act as peacemaker.This so incensed Stone, who was in the*act of firing at Cox, that he turned and shot Mautz dead. There is much trouble in keeping the murderer from mob violence.
