Lucy Hicks Loses Court Suit to KerrickLucy Hicks sued Chief of Police Joe Kerrick in the small claims court Tuesday morning for $7.50 which Mrs. Hicks alleged was due her from Chief Kerrick for breaking down the door of her house a few months ago.The case was held in the chambers of the Oxnard justice court with Judge J. H. Miller of Camarillo, presiding, as Judge E. G. Drif-fill disqualified himself. After hearing the testimony in which Chief Kerrick denied that he had broken Mrs. Hick’s door, the judge decide ! in favor of Chief Kerrick. The door was broken in a raid on the Hicks home, at Seventh and B streets, when Mrs. Hicks refused the officers admitted.
