Edington increasing prohibition fines from $f0 to $100 went into effect Monday when three defendants who appeared before him charged with violating the dry” !a,ws were assessed the latter amount. They were WalterK. Puckett, Ed Werneth and Dan F.Petty. All three took appeals to thecity court and were released, onbond. The bondsmen were WFI inn. William Sc brooder and John J,Moqohan.James E. Cox. arrested Saturday by the police on the charge of violating the prohibition law, was* discharged j for the want of evidence.Deputy sheriffs, according to their report yesterday arrested Clarence Evans, a negro, on the charge of violating the prohibition law. Evans was docketed at the county jail and released on $100 bond signed by John T. and Daniel McNamara.
