Then he left, reportedly for South Africa to attend the funeral of a brother, sparking speculation among former and current members of the church that Drummond might not be back. While Drummond was gone, a handful of church members began to question Drummond’s dominating role at the church and planned to confront the pastor when he returned, sources said. None of those who were allegedly among the group of assistant pastors involved could be reached for comment But sources close to the church said they were going to confront him about church finances and his domination of members private lives, with the possible intent of asking Drummond to step down from the pastorate.flakes'Among them were several men who moved to the Concord ville area from the 11,000-member Church on the Rock near Dallas, Texas. FREDERICK DRUMMONDmessages have been becoming increasingly erratic as he has become increasingly controversial and his congregation has dwindled. Just before his two-month disappearance, Drummond reportedly preached a sermon that poked fun at Jewish people and made reference to the noses of Jews. He then dedared that he didn’t think anyone in his congregation should be working for a Jew because Christians should have all the money, not Jews.In the same sermon, tape recorded on August 24 at the Adams Mark Hotel in Philadelphia, Drummond told members of his congregation that they would “go to hell” if they didn’t “tithe” to the church and obey church leaders.
