Nov IP (UP'—Police oild today that two witnesses saw Dr. Arthiit Frederick Torrance maltreat his bride, wealthy Mrs. Ada Loveland Torrance. at th; scene of an accident which he claims killed her. ,Mrs. Torrance, who married him a month ago m Kentucky died Nov.; 8 in a Monterey hospital of a fractured skull. Torrance was chargedwith murder vesterdav% %rEvaristo Garcia, secretary of Capt. Ernesto Ball: chief of the Nuevo Leon police, said two ice cream merchants watched Torrance draghis wife from th* automobile, pull her across the ground and maul her. The witnesses, Antonio Cantu Garza an^i Ismael Cat'tu Garza, said Torrance showed “no consideration or care, dragging his wife 10 to 12 feet oi the ground, according to Garcia.Torrance had testified that Mrs. Torrance wan thrown clear of th« machine when it swerved into a ditch. He said she hau struck her head on the rear-view mirror.Ismael Garza said the Torrance automobile was in a ditch when heand Antonio Garvsa reached it, butthat it had not overturned.
