Police NotesJohn Farmer was arrested bv OfficerTuite last night for being drunk.Policeman 8tacy picked tip a drunkenindividual by the name of Ed.McCormickand landed him in the calaboose. Heplead guilty to a plain drunk and wasfined the usual amount and cost.On the 12th Dora Kelly swore out warrants for Less Hamilton, Laura Hamilton and Carrie Hamilton for keepingand being inmates of a bawdy house, thepapers were served by Officers WhiteSpears. The case was continueduntil yesterday when ’Squire Henderson fined the entire party and sent themto the city prison for non-payment of their fines. Mrs. Ben Tate was fined asan inmate also.Yesterday the police were notifiedthat parties were trying to dispose ofsome jewelry at one of the jewelryhouses. Chief McEncroe immediatelysent his men out to look for the thieves.Carl VanZandt was arrested by the chiefof police, and later Frank Hull and Wm.Crane were arrested by Officers 8tacy,Spears and McAvoy. The officers believe the parties arrested are implicatedin the various burglaries recently committed in this city.Papers sworn out by Eva Glenn forone Ella Thompson, for board bill andfor taking a dress were placed in thehands of Officer Spears and ConstableSimmons for her arrest. The officersfound her on North West street. Shewas given a trial before Esq. Davenportat 3 o’clock yesterday and ordered topay the board bill and costs amountingto $20.70. The replevin suit being compromised.Dora Kelly, a dusky dame, was arrested and fined for carrying concealedweapons in July, but having failed tocontribute to the exchequor of the citya mittimus was issued against her yesterday and she was placed in durancevile by the accredited minions of thecoitin1a flaw.att
