Nearly 25 years after a brutal murder in Limestone County, the daughter of the victim and the daughter of the killer meet on the Montel Williams ShowBy Kelly Kazekkelly@athensnews-courier.comThe two women on the soundstage were unlikely friends.One, Tracy Clemons of Athens, was on the Montel Williams Show because her mother,Geneva Clemons, was the victim of a brutal 1980 murder in Limestone County.The other woman, B VTammy Zimmerman, ■ 1was on the show Jimmy Fry because her mother,Jackie Sue Schut, is the woman convicted of that murder.Larry Clemons, Tracy's father and husband of the victim, said the show was about families that have lost loved ones and about healing. He said Zimmerman wanted to be on the show with them because she worried the Clemons familyJsomehow blamed her for the murder.Zimmerman, 7 years old at the time, witnessed the crime, as did then-5-year-old T racy Clemons. Both girls testified against Jackie Sue when the case came to trial in Limestone County seven years later.They discussed their feelings at the show’s taping. Larry Clemons said.“It kind of helped and it kind of hurt me in other ways, he said. ’‘Every time 1 talkw »about it hurts.'The show was taped last week in New York City and should air in a levs weeks.
