Tavern incidentJody C. Wesley, 24, of 926 Washing-ton, Alton, was arrested by Madison County Sheriff’s deputies at 1:18 a m today, following an incident at Mary’s Lounge, 132 W MacArthur, Cottage Hills.Deputies were called to the tavern to investigate a report that a man was standing in the tavern parking lot, firing a pistol at passing motorists.When officers arrived, Wesley w as still in the parking lot. but when he saw the deputies, he went inside the lounge, where deputies saw him walk behind the bar and place what appeared to be a gun in a cabinet behind the bar When asked by the deputies to turn over the weapon Wesley had placed in the cabinet, the bartender gave them a .380-caliber Mauser au tomatie pistol.Wesley was charged w ith unlawful use of weapons, possession of a firearm w ithout an firearm owner identification card and. upon advice of the Madison County State's Attorney's office, with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm
