Local police said she once had been arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and was on probation at the time of her death. She was reported to beunemployed.Police today were questioning relatives and neighbors in the Grant Ave. area.The last homicide in Cambridge occurred Oct. 1, 1972, when 17-year-old James 1,-eroy Calvert, Salesville K.D. 1, killed oil field worker Ronald K. Woods, 29, at the home of the youth’s mother, Mrs. Mae Calver, 1211 Carlisle Ave. Calvert was indicted by theJanuary grand jury for firstdegree murder, pleaded guilty to second degree murder orJune 15 and was sentenced U the Ohio State Penitentiary until legally released by law. He will be eligible for parole after 10 vears.wMrs. Cropper was born Jan. B, 1924 in Buffalo, the daughter of the late Calvin and Ruth MasonfMeighen,She leaves her husband, Kenneth Cropper, Cambridge; one daughter, Mrs. Carlos (Brenda) Stillion, Buffalo; two sons, David and Dale Shaffner, both of Columbus; threegrandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Andy (Reba) Vcelka, Buckeyeville; and one brother, George Meighen, Cambridge.Friends may call at Scott Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m Sunday Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. F.velyn Bibler officiating Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery.
