WomanWas StrangledPathologist RulesMrs. Mildred Cropper, 50, of 910 Cirant Ave., was found dead in her bed Friday and a pathologist ruled today she died of strangulation.The preliminary ruling of strangulation” was made by Dr Robert Hasted at UnionHospital, Dover, after an autopsy He said there also was some evidence of a concussion.The body was found about 10:30 a.m. yesterday after relatives reported to police she had not been seen for a couple of days.Police went to her home, broke in the window of a backdoor and found the body, partially clothed in a night dress,lying on a bloodied upstairs bed. They said there was noevidence of a struggle, the homehad not been ransacked andthere was a quantity of moneyin the house which was untouched.Officials of the Bureau ofCriminal Investigation ( BCI) in London, ()., were called and confiscated a quantity of evidence, including a cord. They were examing the evidence today.Prosecutor .James Scott saidthe woman apparently had beendead for a day or two and the“trail is pretty cold, but policedo have a couple of leads that could lead to warrants beingissued after the BCI findings are complete.” The pathologist confirmed that she had beendead for probably two days.The body was taken to Dover because no pathologist was available at GuernseyMemorial Hospital.Local police said she once had been arrested for carrying a concealed weaoon and was on
