ialien asieep.Young Man Held For Forgery of Check for $160Bison Lampman, Clear Lake Youth Held*by Sheriff With Serious Charge Against Him.Bison Lampman, a young boy seventeen years of age, is in trouble, and is now in the custody of Sheriff Marsh, He has come clean with the story and It is. probable that clemency will be shown him. “ During the summer he has been working for Mrs. Alice Gentry, of Clear Lake, who runs a milk route. The hoy has born a good reputation. For some reason unexplained ho forged a check for ?160, made payable to him, signing Mrs. Gentry’s name to it, He went to the First National bank where he had it cashed. The bank knew that the young man had been working for her and did not have the least suspicion that the check was a forgery.Young Lampman took the cash and went to Frank Olson's clothing store and bought $7,60 worth of clothing, and then going to .-the C. M. St. Paul depot hid the balance under the old storehouse. When It was discovered that the check was a forgery Bison was picked up and Sheriff Marsh was sent for. To him Bison confessed it is said. He went with the sheriff to the old building at the Milwaukee station and dug up the money. When Mr. Olson was apprised he took the clothing back and returned the $7.50 so that the full amount was returned to the bank. Bison is a bright looking young man, who now regrets his mistake.
