R. Price of Long Beach, landed in% vi tCorona with a well-planned scheme to found a sanitarium on the foothills just south of this city—provided[there could be enough easy marks%found to part with their money for so valuable a security. At the time the Courier told the people of the man and his method of practice. Read now what last Sunday's issue of the Los Angeles Herald has to say about him:W. R. Price, alleged hypnotist, leader of a psychological school and mining promoter of Long Beach, was arrested by Deputy Constable Jack Johnson yesterday and taken to Justice Ling's court to answer to a charge of obtaining $1000 from Mary J. Helip by false pretenses. He was released on $3000 bond and will ap-; fpear again for preliminary examination Dec. 7.According to the story told by Mrs. Helm to Assistant District Attorney* iMcComas when she swore to the complaint, Price induced her to purchase 1000 shares of stock of theNational Gold Dredging company, of• *which Price is president and treasurer. The stock, she says, is as valueless as the company's property, the estimate of value on which Price said was enormous.i.“Price said the company owned 11miles of the American river bed and that a dredger was taking out from $2000 to $5000 a day,” said Mrs. Helm. “He said the gold in the river bed was like wheat in a bin, and showed me some of the dust which,31 Tim J..'
