Partrick is orginally from West Iamestoneand lives in Athens. Personnel Director Hon Trousdale said Partrick has experience as a dog handler and that Police Chief Kichard Faulk plans to use a don m security work.The two positions authorized in the new city budget are for patroling businesa districts in the city to prevent burglaries.The other security officer may be hired today or tomorrow, according to Trousdale. A man has been agreed upon and background checks are being run at present.The two security men were authorized by the council after merchants complaints about the lack of police patrols around businesses at night. A petition signed by most downtown merchants was presented to the council asking for a “walking patrolman” during night hours.
