Chairman Clyde Taylor presided.The guide topic, “Will the EPA Run My Farm” was followed with a discussion on its importance and it was noted the group would be willing to assist in any way possible to keep the air pure realizing that health and life depends on the air we breathe.The host had questions to be answered for recreation. Refreshments were served and the next meeting set for Dec. 9.Money PledgedMembers of Chapter 37 Blue Star Mothers who met in the American Legion rooms Monday evening voted to send $50 to the Veterans Hospital in Chilhcothe to be used to purchase coupon books for the veterans’ Christmas after correspondence was read from the hospital chairman, Mrs. Tom Wenrle.The meeting was opened by President Mrs. John Lower and Mrs. Howard Parks led in prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance and the national anthem. Mrs. -Fred Evans was accompanist.A Thanksgiving theme was carried out when refreshments were served by .Mrs. Lower, Mrs. Robert Parks and Mrs. William Medley to 11. A covered dish dinner was planned for 6:30 p.m. Dec. 9 with a dollar gift exchange.Mayor’s CourtPaying fine and costs by waiver, all on speed by radar charges were Pamela K. Gardner, 436 North College St., entered a not contest plea to a stop sign violation at the four-way stop at College and Canal Sts. Sunday at 11:37 a.m. when he allegedly struck a car belonging to Wayne L. Harsline, 43, Route 2. He was found guilty and assessed $25 and costs. There was minor damage to both vehicles.Fred M.
