He said she asked to beexamined.A digital examination, he testified. disclosed “pronounced tenderness’’ in the vicinity of the womb and ho advised her to see a physician.However, he continued, she returned that afternoon. An examination, made with the aid of a speculum and an illuminator, disclosed an infection on the outer surface of the womb. He said he treated the infection with iodine and applied gauze in the va0*mal canal.Said She Used Corset SlavsDoctor Boone testified he asked Mrs. Short what she had done about her condition. “There’s nothing in the world I haven’t done,” he quoted her as saying. He declared she told him she had used a corset stave. The young woman already had denied use of such an instrument.No instruments he used in the treatment could cause an abortion, Doctor Boone testified.Doctor Boone said he had talked to Doctor 8tacy at Post a short time before Mrs. Short was treated, but he denied that they had talked about the girl’s condition. He denied, also, that he instructed Mrs. Short to call on Doctor Stacy after he had treated her here. Stacy’strial for abortion has been set forDec. D.Stamford Physician TestifiesDr. Prank C. Scott, a Stamford physician, testified that the speculum. which was Introduced in evidence. could not be used alone to cause a miscarriage. He was the last witness offered by the defense.Raymond Short probably will be the first state rebuttal witness at 9 o’clock this morning.Dr. W. L.
