i-1 Shank’s barber shop in the Odd Fel-i-, lows building on East Locust street e was entered by burglars Friday night s and cigars, ra/xrs and barbers’ supplies to the amount of about forty dol-sjlars taken. The light-fingered gentry i-1 had entered through the door with a key, and after helping themselves to such articles as they could make use of or convert Into casii, locked thedoor and went their way. On entering the next morning the proprietor did not discover that he had been rob-»| bed until he had use for the missing articles.Marshall Sliker’s suspicions were atonce directed to Charless Doss, and heproceeded with his investigations of the case until Tuesday morning, when in company with Sheriff Osborn they went to the young man’s home inDoan’s addition, where he conducts a small barber shop, and found Doss and ail the missing property with the ex-: ception of a few cigars. Doss confessed, aud explained how he had enteredthe shop with a duplicate key, of which he had a large number in his possess ion.Entrance was made to the barbershop at 9:30 o’clock and at 7:30 o’clock the same evening J. S. Thomas entered his place of business from the rear and sat for a time by the open tire In the front office without turning on the light. He heard a noise and a shadow feli on the wall and as he stepped to the rear of the room saw a man standing in the door, who quickly disappeared. The marshal believes that tida was Doss, and that he was watch-log the Moon barber shop to enter it when frightened away by Mr. Thomas.Doss is but twenty years of age, and has been twice to the Reform farm.In his shop he had a case of watches ^ and trinkets, and was working on a watch when the officers entered, all ot them no doubt articles which he iiad purloined.
