Former police chief guilty of SBA fraudCHICAGO (UPI) — Robert W. Rajewski, former chief ofthe Calumet City Police Department, was found guilty Tuesday of defrauding the Small Business Administration in a flood disaster loan scheme, but another defendant was acquitted.Steven H. Ostrowsky was acquitted in the federal courtcase.Rajewski, 29, was found guilty of obtaining a $6,000 flood disaster loan from the SBA in August, 1972, by submitting false receipts for $531 in repairs he said were made on his Calumet City apartment building in the wake of flooding.
