By acquiring the three stores reported sold to the Liggett company'yesterday tile big corporation now has a chain of live stores in the heart or the city and 5s about 10 open a sixth.The stores which .yesterday ceased to war' against the trust were the three Weld-Dalton stores. Stow ell at No. 317 South Salina street.Adding to the alarm caused by the announcement of the trust control of three more stores is the knowledge that thn combination is backed by railiions of dollars. The Liggett company Is the holding company of the United Drug company of Boston. There arc two subsidiary companies to the parent company, botli organized for the purpose of operating chains of drug- stores. The two companies are the Ligett company of Mew’ York and the Louis K, Liggett company of Boston.
