CHLOE WILSON.OBITUARYMary Elizabeth Conover McVew, was born In Clearmont County, Ohio, Nov. 8, 1845. She was brought to this state when she was but a few month’s old. At about the age of twenty she was united with t he Hope-well Baptist church near Holton. Indiana, where she retained her membership until her death.In the fall of 1866 she was married to Jameg McNew who resided in the same community. There was born to this union ten children of whom three sons and three daughters are living and three sons and one daughter is dead..She pawed out of this life June 11. 1917, being 71 years, 7 mouths and three days old.Only those who passed through the war and the reconstruction period can know of the hardships that were on. But tbeir faithfulness has brought about a better day.Her relatives and friends know ihatdeahers was a beautiful Chriseian char- ■ acter. She loved he* church *nd nor family.Though her illness was of long duration through It all she was cheerful and patient and when the hour for her departuro came, she peacefully and quietly went to receive her Crown of Righteousness which the Lord of the Righteous Judge given to i all who have, loved his appearing.Just three months and four days following the death of his good wife Mary Elizabeth, James McNew laid aside this e'arthly life and passed cut Into the great beyond.He was born in Ripley county. Indiana. May 14, 1845. About 1864 during the civil war he served a term In the army of the Union. These men who served our nation so well In that great crisis are dropping out one by one.As shown by the obituary of his wife he was married to Mary Elizabeth Conover in 1866 and was the father of ten children, six of whom are living. These together with ouc brother, three sisters, aud seventeen grandchildren survive him.He died September. 15. 1917 a- I he age of 72 years, 4 months, .ud 2 days.
