At an early hour the house was packed from orchestra to roof with the beauty and fashion of this and neighboring cities, eager to greet the appearance of the long watched for stars of tho operatic world, Patti and Mario, and it is as little as can be said to say that no one was disappointed in their anticipations of pleasure. It is so seldom that a combinatiom is formed in which overy member possesses so much talent as the one which performed last evening. Of oaure* Patta and Mario were the bright, particular stars in the constellation and the principal attractions of th# evening. MMI© Patti Jin “ Do Bravouro” displayed the wonderful power and flexibility of her voice to tho best ad v ant ago of anything during th* evening, while a little Scotch ballad and her celebrated Laughing song, which she rendered oil being encored brought down tho house with storms of ^plause. Signor Mario was nlso a great favorite, being repeatedly encored. Miss Annie Louise Carey, though not so much heralded with sound of trumpet, electrified the audience by her pure and cultivated rendering of so difficult a piece a« “ Nobil ? Signor,t' from “ Les Hugenots/' and the jdelicate and feeling manner in which ho j-I IftTgave one oi Tom Moore's touching ballads.Of the other performers it is sufficient to say that they were worthy supporters of the great artists of this combination, and it. will be a long time befuro uur music lovers will cease to feel a thrill of pleasure at the memory of the pleasure afforded them last evening.AL Card.sen
