Important Land Casa.A case involving property to the atnonnt of between six and seven hundred thousand dollars, and which has been before the United States Circuit Court for some time, was deoided by Judge 8 wayne, last week. The im-monce amount of property in question, and some of the points involved, have given the case great interest, and the decision has h®en looked for with eagerness by the public, as well as the parties to the suit.The property consisted of lots in 8t. Louis amounting to nearly 800 acres whiefc had descended to the heirs of Major Amos Stoddard, who died in 1818. In 1887, the heirs made Henry Stoddard their agrtnt for the purpoee of perfecting the title to the land, which had been in litigation from the time it came into| their possession, they agreeing to give him, in addition to other foes, one-tenth interest ui'the land, for hi* services.— Darning bie agency several suits were decided, and about the year 1880 the title to the land was confirmed .to the 8toddard heirs by the Supreme Court of the United States. The hind w$a then valued by residents of St. Louis at from $1,200 to $1,500 per acre.
