Two accused of falsifying robbery at Pomona drive-inTwo voung men arrested in connection with an allegedly phony holdup involving the receipts of a Pomona drive through restaurant Oct 23 have heen charged formally with the offense They are Jay Sheldon Hattahaugh. 23 assistant manager at th»* ln-N-lt; Hit Burger on N Towne Avenue in Pdvimmj and another employe there. Richard A Wold. \9. who told police he was robbedA third employe, a 17-year-old La \erne vouth. has been petitioned to Juvenile Court in connection with theraseWold told police that night that he was robbed of the company's night deposit at the rear of the Cnited California Bank branch at 321 EHolt Ave in Pomona and forced todrive to Mt Balds Road north of Claremont where he was left handcuffed to the steering wheel of hiscarPomona police Detective Elias Valder later arrested all three and charged them with staging a fake robbery because they were angn at the company for not closing theTowne Avenue outlet Some of the stolen was recovered Valdez reponed. but onlv a small amount Hattabaugh was charged with grand theft and receiving stolen property Wold wa charged with grand theft and making a false police report The offenses are being handled as misdemeanor^ principally because neither man has been in trouble before, authorities said Tlx* defendants are free on $ 1 000 bail each.
