Wheeler, How- j ard Minton. F. T. Shuck, John Kent: and Allen M. Kent, charged with mur-j der in connection with the lynching of j Robert Powell, negro, were passed for: the term. This means they will be, tried by O’Brien Stevens, district attorney-elect.Trial of Clifford Franck, charged | with killing his wife, Gladys, has been; set for November 14. Franck was given the death penalty on a former ■; trial but the case was reversed. He, has been under observation in the in-' sane ward for several weeks. ;Jack Straight, charged with robbery; by firearms, will be tried November j 23, He is charged with robbery of A.P. Cooper.Joe Gaines, James Middleton and Fred Ross, negroes, indicted for the murder of Charlie Provenzano, Ital-' ! lian storekeeper, are scheduled to go to : trial November 15.
