Negroes Charged With Crime are Arrested and Placed in Jail Early This Morn* ing—Money Recovered.Last night about 11 o’clock two ne-jroes met a young boy by the name of rlugh Griffin and on the pretense of fading a game enticed him to a spot jeyond the compress. When they were veil away from everyone the negroes :urned and pulled a gun on the youth ind demanded that he give up his noney. The boy hesitated a moment, vhich caused one of the negroes to jay, “shoot him and lets get that mon-jy.” This excited the boy and he ;ave up his cash without further argument. The negroes took the money ind hurried away with threats of violence if the boy told on them.The youth came to town and notified :he officers and a search was started for the robbers. They were finally run down about 4 o’clock this morning !y Deputy John Champion, who found them at the home of John Hamilton. He placed them under arrest and took them to the jail for safe keeping. To-Jay charges were lodged against the negroes for highway robbery. The negroes are named “Nora” Miles and Sylvester Jackson, and are new in Brownwood. It has been suggested that the creamery matter be the special subject for discussion at the meeting to be held in Brownwood on Saturday. Dec. 4th, that being the time for the next meeting of the Farmers' Institute.
