A difficulty occurred last night on Pearl street, between Spring and Market, between Fred. Jackson and James Wliit* ten, daring which Whitten received a shot in the shoulder, indicting a severe but not dangerous wound. Jackson will bave a hearing before the Mayor to-morrow on the charge of assault and battery.
