CHARLES T EWELLWell Known in Madison and Lancaster Township, Shot Wife and Brother-In-Law at Richmond.Richmond, Ind., Nov. 5—Ida Te-well may die and her brother, Fred Tull, is in serious condition tonight as the resultjof wounds inflicted by the woman’s husband, Charles Te-well, when he fired at them with a revolver early this evening, in the Starr Piano Company plant here. The police have been unable to find Tewell, who fled after the shooting.Considerable mystery surrounds the affair. Neither employes of the plant nor neighbors were able to assign a motive for the deed. They said that Mr. and Mrs. Tewell and her brother seemed to be on very friendly terms.Tewell shot his wife through the lung and his brother-in-law through : the cheekbone. The shooting occurred outside one of the units of the plant a few minutes after the closing whistle sounded. Witnesses said there was no altercation.Teweli, the police said, drew his revolver and fired pointblank at his wife and her brother. All three were employed in the Starr Piano Company. Mrs. Tewell and her brother were removed to Reid Memorial Hospital. _Charles Tewell was a former resident of Lancaster township. He is well known in Madison and his father, Mr. J. B. Tewell, conducts a grocery r n west Third street. Homer Tewell, an employe at the Elmer E. Scott Company, is a brother.Mrs. Ida Tewell and her brother, Fred Tull, victims of the tragedy, have always lived at Richmond.
