HAMMOND - - Hammond - Police Mondaynight arrested a suspect wanted by the Post Office Department for mallfraud.The arrest of Albert Johnson, 47-year-old Negro of Tullis, La., was made by Negro police officers Charlie Muse and George Randolph.Muse said Johnson was living In die rear of 410E. Michigan Ave. here and running a teenage recreation center in the front of the dwellihjg.Muse said he had spoken to Johnson on several occasions . beforethe arrest. Some four days ago. he said, he recognized Johnson’s picture on one of the wanted posters In die police file and decided to keep close watch on the suspect.Johnson was taken to Hammond City Policeheadquarters before being turned over to the sheriff's office in Amite.
