FOUND DEAD.Capt. E. G. Pierce cf Minneapolis Dies From Heart Trouble.Captain E. C. Pierce of 715 Delaware street,-. Southeast Minneapolis, was found dead in his bed at the Dogart hotel-between 5 and 6 o’clock this morning. The man, who was a traveling agent for the Wilbur Seed Meal con- 1 pany of Milwaukee, reached 13 Alomes on a midnight train last night and remarked to Mr.'Curtis, the night ! clerk, that he Tvas not feeling well, and • that 18 months ago he had weighed 3:*5 pounds but by the use of anti-fat rem- •' edies he had succeeded in reducing hi* 1 weight to 222 pounds. He retired and at 2 a. m. Dr. Rood was called and the 1 physician prescribed for the sufferer who appeared to be suffering from in- i digestion and not to be in danger nothing more was heard of the guest until this morning when it was discovered that he was dead. A large number of letters from the firm which he represented and members of his 1 family disclosed his identity and in his i coat pocket was found a leather album i containing pictures of himself, wife i daugher. probably between 25 and 30 years old, and a son apparently 15 years of aee. Captain Pierce was probably 55 years old and was a soldier : in the war of the rebellion. Coroner i Ankeney was summoned and upon in- j vestigation the officer concluded that an inquest was unnecessary it being ‘ evident that the man died from fattv ' degeneration of the heart The remains were turned over to Undertaker Avells and the family was promptly notified of his sudden death. Captain Pierce has been making this territory regularly and is welt and favorably known among traveling men.
