I lat--icetinnf,*ss.ind thiDale Car Executive SentencedLeonard Katz, onetime associate of automobile promoter Jerry Dean Michael, has received a one to 10-year prison term for his role in promoting the three -wheeled Dale.Katz 41. of Canoga Park, served as execu-1 tive vice president and secretary of Twentieth Century Motor Car Corp.. Encino. before the company ran into trouble with the law.-The Los Angeles County Grand Jury indicted Katz, Michael and seven other personscon-nected with Twentieth Century last May 29 on charges of conspiracy, grand _ theft . and state securities law violations.Last Sept. 29. Katzpleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to defraud, two counts of grand theft, and one count of violating state corporate securities laws. He was sentenced Friday by Superior Court judge Glenn Pfau in Los Angeles.Michael, his wife Vivian and five other former officers and salesmen of Twentieth Century will go on trial Nov., 10. One defendant is being sought by police.Others indicted in Los Angeles along with Michael and his wife and Katz are •Samuel Schllsman 62. vice president and treasurer of Tw entieth Century. of 6331 Orange St.. Los Angeles; Andrew R.Farrell 61. an engineer, of Thousand Oaks; Edward Comstock, a vice president, of Redondo Beach, and Jay Gardner and Charles Roh. addresses unknown.Defendant Burton White is being sought by authorities.• The 34-count indictment included 19 counts of grand theft involving sums from $250 to SI5.000 and totaling $63.000 that investors pumped into the company on the belief that the $2000 Dale car would soon be coming off the assembly line.Michael, using the female name G. Elizabeth Carmichael, went on a nationwide publicl- , ty tour promoting the Dale. .
