After the fight was ended, he said the Butlers. Shadle and Heckel were standing in a circle when Shadle hit Roland Butler from behind. Roland struck Shadle a blow which knocked him down. Shadle got up and left the bar. He was followed outside a few minutes later by Roland Butler.Herman testified he heard a shot, not more than a minute after Roland Butler walked out.“We all ran out and I seen him laying there alongside the car,” Herman testified.
