Elk Man Is HeldfCtattaic* wr+m rare i•d about throe weeks ago, but “I understood they had patched things up and were getting ready to go back together again*The shooting occurred In the yard of the home of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Stoffel at Elkview, four or five miles from the Elswick and Pauley home*.Trooper Pence said Elswick apparently was waiting there with a shotgun when Pauley and Mr*. Elswick drove up in Pauley's automobile; and the shooting followed.Mr* Elswiek and Mrs. Stoffel are sisters. Pence said he was informed. Pauley wm the father of three children.Police officers who took part In the Investigation included Deputy Sheriff* Ben Ray, Hobart Ash and Hoy Young.
