Elk Man Is Held In Friend’s DeathA 36-year-old Elk district man accused of slaying bis ‘‘best friend'’ because he was “chasing around” with his wife was held in the Kanawha county jail last night pending a formal charge of murder^State Trooper W. L. Pence said preliminary investigation showed! that Arnold L. Elswick of Little Sandy was waiting in the dark late Thursday night when Clarence E. Pauley, 27, drove up with Mrs. Elswick at the home of the woman’s sister about one mile from Elk-view.“I was told that Pauley and Mrs. Elswick were chasing around together and Elswick thought his; friend was breaking up his home,” i Trooper Pence related, !Dr. Max J.
