Bail upheld by courtAUSTIN (AP) - The 3rd Court of Appeals has affirmed a trial court order setting bail at $350,000 for Louis Talley in the capital murder of his wife and the man with whom she was living.Talley, 45, had argued that the bail was excessive, amounting to a denial of bail, the court said Wednesday. He has admitted killing Lillian Talley, 37, and M.G. “Andy”Anderson, 43, at an apartment complex two years ago but said he shot them in the heat of anger. The appeals court, in an opinion by Justice Bob Gammage, noted that several witnesses for the state had testified that, if released on bond, Talley “would be a threat to his own safety and that of other family members, particularly his son, a grand jury witness.”
