Police Arrest£Two Suspects In EastchesterTwo Connecticut men were taken into custody early Thursday morning by Eastchester police, and charged with attempted burlary. One was taken at gunpoint as he came out of an audio store, and the other was caught after a chase.Charged with breaking and entry is Lawrence Lakso, 27, of 13 Mason St., Greenwich, Conn. His companion, Mario Porcheddu, 22, of 13 Mohawk Lane, Stamford, is charged with acting in concert.Police Chief Vincent D. Fisher said headquaters received an anonymous phone call at 5:06 a.m. that someone was in the Boynton — Goodall Audio Store at 737 White Plains Road. Four I i patrol cars under the direction 0 jjof Lt. Charles Doyle were dispatched to the scene.As the patrol cars pulled up. the second man ran across White Palins Road. Ptl. Michael Morgan, on the first day of his permanent appointment to the force after graduation Wednesday from the police training school, took off in pursuit.The man ran through the Lord and Taylor parking lot, where Ptl. Morgan fired a warning shot, but the suspect continued onto the property of the adjacent Vernon Hills Country Club, police said. The chase was seen by a Lord and Taylor maintenance man, John Spindle of 20 E. 4th St., Mount Vernon, who joined the patrolman. They captured Porcheddu on the golf course.Lakso was taken into custody at gunpoint by Lt. Doyle after he came out of the store and jumped from a rear wall to the ground. The prisoner claimed injuries from the jump and was taken to Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville for X-rays, which proved negative, police said.The car with Connecticut license plates used by the two men, according to police, was(Continued On Page Six)
