Wednesday, May 29, 1974Felony Case Counts Are DismissedFelony charges of possessing stolen property and amphetamines have been dismissed against Reuben Richard Robles of Santa Venetia.The charges were dropped just before a scheduled preliminary bearing in Marin Municipal Court when the district attorney’s office said it could not find a crucial witness.Robles, 32, was arrested in February after Marin and Sonoma County sheriff's deputies, armed with a Sonoma search warrant, raided his home in search of a gun thought to have been used in a Sonoma County murder last December.Robles was arrested in connection with the slaying of Richard Ashbury, 35, a Hell's Angel whose nude body was dumped on a road near the Russian River and set afire. However Sonoma County officials did not charge him with the crime due to a lack of evidence.Robles also was charged with the stolen property and drug counts on the strength of con traband allegedly found in his house.
