He' surrendered to the police shortly after the tragedy and said the killing was caused by slanderous remarks made by Ruman about his (Johnson's) wife, who * witnessed the shooting.The shooting ocenrred nbar the corner of Fourteenth street and Avenue A* where the two men met. aad but one shot was fired, the ball taking effect in the brain of Roman, and death was almost Instantaneous.The dead man was unmarried and waa about 4t years of age. He Is survived by a brother and two elstera, residing In Houston.The body was tsken In charge by J. Levy £ Bro. and Coroner Canty Is holding the inquest today.
