—We were highly pleased to receive a call yesterday from Mr. Jos. II. Hawkins, of Benton Township, who was so severely |wonnded some time ago by. a shot ¥rdm*a rifle in the hands of one John Long, whom lie, as Constable, was trying to arrest. It is really gratifying to see Joseph around again, for he is one of the best citizens of the county, and it was thought for some time after he was shot that he could not survive*r - '' C t ^ ^ ~ ’the wound. His escape from death and his recovery is really a miracle—though his recovery, as yet, is only partial, and may never be complete. : .* ,• •* •
