An Inhuman Act.A Mr. Ozro .Castle, who resides some three or four miles from this place, tairoe into town last Saturday with a load of otits. Aftcr ‘im-bibing’ enough to exhibit in bold relief the peculiar beauties of his nature, he made preparations for leaving, when one of his horses became a little stubborn and lefused to start.f/’ ■- S mCastle then commenced bea ting the horse most unmercifully with a club, and knocked the poor brute down two or three times, nearly killing him. After a while, -However, he got the horse on his legs again, and then because he did not move off to his not ion, (being more dead than alive at the time,) the inhuman monster, in the shape of a'man, making use of the most vulgar language, and uttering horrid oaths, coolly and brutally commenced beating the poor beast in the head until he killed him—ill fact, we are credibly informed that he struck him several time? after he was dead! It was certainly as cowardly and re-rolling a spectacle as we ever beheld—and for the credit of humanity and c ivilization, God knows we never wish to witness such another.It is said that since the adoption of the new con-»• * .■ * * ••stitution no law has been cuac ted to reach this case, or to punish the inhuman monster who perpetrated the cowardly act. If such is tire fact, il ls a burning shame and disgrace toIndiana, and the sooner such a law is upon our statute books the better. Castle, while murdering his horse, swore he would serve nny one.in the same way who attempted to interfere—and we have no diubi but that he was just devil enough to do it!
