Shawnee thieves were considerateA Shawnee couple Monday escaped injury and were able to free themselves in 30 minutes after two robbers forced them into their car trunk. The robbers were considerate enough to leave a slit for breathing air.Dr. Joseph H. Rohr and his wife. Mrs. Roberta Rohr. 4732 Black Swan Dr., were put in their car trunk at about 5 p.m. by two men who gained entry into the couple’s home. The men came to the Rohr door and asked permission to use the telephone to call a tow truck.After the Rohrs admitted the two men, they displayed a revolver, tied pillow cases over the heads erf Rohr and his wife and made them sit on a couch in their home. After assembling an undisclosed amount of cash and an antique pistol from the Rohrs’ house, the men led the couple to their car and made them get into the trunk.Shawnee Police said the couple was able to free themselves within 30 minutes because the men left a piece of carpet in the trunk closure for ventilation.
