Yosemite Park Searched For Missing Coed From BelvedereI-J Special ReportYOSEMITE - Mary Hoefer, 19-year-old daughter of advertising executive John H. Hoefer of Belvedere, has been reported missing from Yosemite National Park since Saturday.Park rangers combed the valley floor at the park yesterday in the continuing search for Miss Hoefer, a sophomore at the University of California at Berkeley.A summer employee at the park, she had been working as a desk clerk at Yosemite Lodge for the past two weeks.She was last seen near the lodge about 10 p.m. Saturday, said park information officer Larry Quist. Friends said she was talking with a man in his early 20s in the lodge parkinglot, Qulst reported.‘‘At this time we are just listing her as a missing person and that is about all we know right now,” Quist said.Rangers have searched places where Miss Hoefer was known to hike by herself, but there have been no clues, Quist reported.Kathy T h i e d e , 19, who roomed with Miss Hoefer at the park said that Saturday morning Miss Hoefer mentioned going to see her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Hoefer of 32 Peninsula Road, during the weekend.However, there was no signnia plans to sell its 10-acre St. Peter Chanel Seminary at 1675 Grand Avenue, San Rafael, according to Frank Heffernan, a member of the Marists Lay Advisory Board.that Miss Hoefer left the room with plans to go anywhere, she said.Miss Hoefer often spent time in a nearby meadow by herself and often took long hikes and bicycle rides alone, Miss Thiede said.The missing girl, 5 feet 10inches tall, 140 pounds with brown eyes and blonde hair, was last seen wearing a white blouse, dark slacks, brown hiking boots and blue socks.Several of the 10 students at the seminary now take academic courses at the University of San Francisco.The Marist Society construct-Marist Society PlansTo Sell Seminary SiteThe Marist Society of Califor- logical Union in Berkeley,Heffernan reported.
